Elder Christofferson, an Apostle in the church presidency came to reorganize stake leadership. We were able to listen to him for the adult session on Saturday and the Sunday morning session. Jeff also heard him speak at the Priesthood session as well. On Sunday, Elder Christofferson spoke about Peter, Christ's apostle and how he healed a lame man at the temple, denied Christ and then later repented. Now a monument in Israel is dedicated to him and named for his sin. He said we must put Christ at the center of our lives. If He is not, we need to look and examine if Christ really is in the center of our lives. We must ask ourselves if what we occupy our time and if it is truly essential to our salvation. We must put Christ at the center of our lives. If there is time left over then we can do other things. Nothing will replace or substitute that wich is good. He blessed our stake that we may have an abundance of food and finances and that we will be blessed when we give our excess to those in need.
Haley asked if she would be able to meet Elder Christofferson and I tried not to get her hopes up and said he is very busy and probably will need to leave right after the conference. At the end of the conference, he announced that he wanted to shake each child's hand before he left. Haley was so excited. He even told her she was beautiful. Sydney enjoyed shaking his hand. Drew didn't understand the significance because he said, "I waited 30 minutes to shake one guy's hand?" Well, at least they got a rare opportunity to meet an apostle of the Lord.
Afterwards we walked on Sacramento temple grounds and took pictures. We love to go to the temple.
