We have a chocolate door advent, a Santa chimney where Santa drops down the chimney each day till Christmas. We have the snowman chain to get a chocolate treat each day. There is the reindeer advent with a chocolate treat.
I added two new ones this year. One of them is an activity advent. Each day we are to do something different as a family, whether it is watch a Christmas movie, write a letter to Santa, Elf someone, play a board game with the family, do a service for someone...etc. So far the kids enjoy it.
The last advent we have is a daily scripture which we read in addition to reading the Book of Mormon each night, we read a scripture about Christ and discuss it. It is helping to bring the true meaning of Christmas back in our home.
